Hi, I’m C.K. Sample III.
I have a blog over here and you can follow me on Twitter here.
I have a BA in English and Art from Mississippi College, a Master of Arts degree in English Studies from Illinois State University, and a Master of Philosophy degree in English from Fordham University. I have taught 21 college level English classes, mostly English Composition or Writing Across the Curriculum classes both as a student teacher and as an Adjunct Professor of English. I have also been a graduate assistant for a FIlm & Literature class taught by Dr. William McBride at Illinois State University and I was Dr. Ray Lewis White’s research assistant for a year during my studies at ISU.
Sometime after moving to New York and beginning my studies towards a Ph.D. in English at Fordham University, I began to slowly fall out of academia and into technology. Because of this I became stuck in the limbo that is ABD (All But Dissertation aka All But Done) for several years, until ultimately I decided to call it quits and just take the M.Phil. and give up the dream of adding Dr. to the beginning of my ridiculously odd and long name.
I still love to read, I still love literature, and I still over think and overanalyze everything I can, so I thought: Hey. Why not start a podcast talking about all this? Also, being a former graduate student, I like beer and given the slang usage of “lit,” I may have a few while recording. You’re welcome to join me.
If you’re interested in joining the book club you can sign up for the newsletter here (coming soon). If you’d like to be a guest on the podcast, shoot me an email: ck at sampletheweb dot com.
Cheers,
C.K.
